SF% reflects how a team’s shots for compare to league average. SA% reflects how a team’s shots against compare to league average.
Positive SF% values indicate a team is generating shots above league average, while positive SA% values indicate a team is allowing shots above league average.
For matchup analysis and shot-volume evaluation, upward SF% and SA% trends are generally considered favorable for identifying shot-friendly environments.
