About these datasets & columns
All columns reflect raw NHL shot event data prepared from NHL API endpoints,
with the exception of season, seasonId, and
gameTypeId, which are added during the publish process to
support multi-season filtering, grouping, and downstream analysis.
These standardized fields support multi-season filtering, team identification, grouping, and downstream analysis workflows across the platform.
Player Location Priors summarizes each player’s historical shot-location
distribution into rates such as inner slot, mid slot, circles, and perimeter share.
Shot Location Events contains granular shot-level records including event,
team, player, goalie, coordinate, standardized coordinate, and shot-region fields.
These datasets can support historical analysis, dashboards, and predictive modeling workflows.
